Teresa M. Ressel has 25+ years of business experience covering finance, industrials/defense & technology complementing her government service. She serves on various public company boards, Wall Street and private finance/ private equity and non-profit sectors with a central theme of healthcare, financial markets, audit, technology and risk management. She is active around fostering financial literacy for all.

Ms. Ressel was confirmed by the US Senate and served at the US Treasury in the Bush Administration from 2001-2004. More recently, she serves as Trustee, Invesco Mutual Funds covering their fund family serving on their Audit Committee and Investments Committee. In 2018, Teresa was named to the board of GAVI, The Global Vaccine Alliance and served through 2024. GAVI delivers vaccines across the world to more than half of the world’s children.

Previously, Teresa worked across international banking and finance as CEO of UBS Securities LLC (U.S. division of UBS Investment Bank). Prior to her CEO tenure, she led UBS’s Americas region as Chief Operating Officer across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. These leadership roles included market and operational risk, compliance and technology oversight as well as supporting the risk profiles of new business applications and balance sheet controls across the various business units including investment banking. Teresa was with UBS from 2004 until 2012. Ms. Ressel directly managed regional compliance, risk and operations as well as Chaired the Americas Operating Committee for the Investment bank.

At the United States Treasury with her rank as Assistant Secretary for Management and designation by Presidential Directive as Chief Financial Officer, her duties included market strategy, financial management, strategy around revenue collection for the IRS and the U.S. Customs Bureau, leading the government’s audit across the Department, reporting and cash flow duties, and an array of regulatory oversight matters for financial markets and financial institutions. Ms. Ressel supervised a broad array of information technology, IT security and technology transformations. For service leading the divestiture of multiple Treasury divisions via the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, Teresa was awarded the Treasury Medal. Similarly, Teresa was recognized by the IRS with the Commissioner’s Award for service representing the Secretary of the Treasury’s interests at the IRS Oversight Board, customer interfaces, and her Treasury leadership with IRS colleagues.

Teresa spent significant time within audit and program management across Asia Pacific with a major computer manufacturer (1990-1994). Additionally, prior to her public service assignments, she was Chief Compliance Officer for a major hospital chain; in her various positions there, she also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, e-Commerce. Ms. Ressel started her career as a Nuclear Test Engineer before attending business school (she holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute).

Teresa completed cyber security training at Carnegie Mellon University through NACD Director Programs; and holds two engineering degrees (BS and MS) from the University of Delaware. Ms. Ressel is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a non-partisan organization exploring public policy across the globe. Teresa qualifies as a financial expert relative to a variety of regulatory definitions and has served on audit committees as member or chair for 10+ years. She has previously held security clearances at various junctures within the US Government and within the private sector.
